Big Name Actors Bow Out Of Anticipated Roles
It’s always a shame to lose a large actor from a really cool role where they possibly would have shined in. Especially, when you get invested in that actor playing that specific role. And then to learn that they won’t be playing them anymore and you’d have to learn to adapt to someone else playing that role that you already envisioned the previous actor. It’s heartbreaking. Yeah, I know. I take movies way too serious.
Anyway, we’ve got a double wami to worry about today. I’ll start out with something that stings me a lot less. Entertainment Weekly got the lowdown from Demi Moore’s rep that she will be bowing out of Rob Epstein and Jeff Friedman’s LOVELACE. She was recently rushed to the hospital citing exhaustion. She was originally set to play a woman’s rights activist by the name of Gloria Steinem who was a harsh opponent of all forms of pornography in the 70′s and probably gave Linda Lovelace tons of shit.
The movie is based on a biography entitled The Complete Linda Lovelace by Eric Danville. It’s a biopic of the late DEEP THROAT porn star’s life (Played by Amanda Seyfried), chronicling her life in pornography and the abusive relationship with her husband Chuck Traynor (Peter Skarsgaard).
Now here’s the one that hurt me on a personal level. Remember back in October, I wrote an article about bad-ass Javier Bardem taking a role in the DESPICABLE ME sequel for Universal. Well, it looks like Hollywood Reporter is telling us that Bardem has left the role without any real explanation as to why. He was supposed to play El Macho, an evil genius who also has children. Do you realize how great he could have been in that role? He was friggin’ Anton Chigurh in NO COUNTRY FOR OLD MEN. Enough said.
I really enjoyed DESPICABLE ME, I would have loved to have seen that flick.
