Christina Hendricks And Lucy Liu Find Themselves Dealing With Detachment
I’m fairly certain that if I didn’t lead this story with a picture of Christina’s ginormous breasts, it could be considered a crime against humanity. Now that you’ve gotten a good look at that massive cleavage, please try to pay attention to my words, no matter how difficult your wandering eye makes that.
Christina Hendricks and Lucy Liu (don’t worry… there will be a picture of the hot freckled Asian later) have attached themselves to DETACHMENT, the new drama from director Tony Kaye, who was responsible for the very powerful AMERICAN HISTORY X. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the pair signing up alongside William Petersen in his first post-C.S.I. role make them the latest additions to an already impressive cast featuring Adrien Brody, Bryan Cranston, James Caan and Marcia Gay Harden.
Wow… how did this film manage to slip beneath The Kidd’s radar?
Now I cannot speak to Christina Hendricks’ acting talent, because the only exposure I’ve had to her thus far is nothing more than staring at her tits. That’s right, Kiddos. I have yet to watch an episode of MAD MEN. I know… another potential crime against humanity. I’ve heard nothing but great things about the show, yet falling behind this many seasons already, it’s going to take some clearing of my calendar to jump right into the mix from the beginning.
However, Lucy Liu’s addition I can vouch for, because… well, who’s going to complain about Lucy Liu? Granted, she hasn’t always picked the best projects for herself (CODE NAME: THE CLEANER, DOMINO, BALLISTIC: ECKS VS. SEVER), but she was in KILL BILL, and anything good enough for Tarantino is good enough for me. Plus, hot freckled Asian… come on.
As for William Petersen, I never watched an episode of C.S.I. either (I know… sue me), but I really felt his pain as a worried father in FEAR, so I’ll give him the thumbs-up.
The story “centers on a normally detached substitute teacher (Brody) who becomes invested in the students and teachers at the troubled school where he works and grows close to a homeless teen working as a prostitute. Petersen will play a Vietnam veteran who teaches history. The character gets in trouble when, in a bid to teach tolerance, he shows a gay film in class. Hendricks will play a teacher who urges Brody to commit to teaching full-time and might be a romantic interest. Liu will play a school psychologist who grows frustrated with her students’ incompetence.”
This cast assembled by this director…? Count me in.
