It’s The Trailer For Seeking A Friend For The End Of The World
There are far worse people you could possibly end up spending your last three weeks before the world ends with than Steve Carell and Keira Knightley. For SEEKING A FRIEND FOR THE END OF THE WORLD, they’ve found each other, and, while a giant asteroid is plummeting to Earth, set to destroy everything, there’s enough comedy in their pairing to make this one quite an interesting watch.
I’m digging the radio station countdown to the end, complete with your favorite classic rock hits. Patton Oswalt seems to have some really good stuff here, if the small taste of him in the trailer is any indication. And Steve Carell is just so damn likeable that you want to see how this is all going to turn out for him, as someone who regrets his whole life and basically has three weeks to make his existence anything worth having lived at all.
Keira Knightley didn’t bore me in those 2½ minutes, which is always a good sign, as I can’t say the same for some of her other films. Carell may be responsible for helping bring out a bit of her personality, as it’s hard not to shine opposite his characters. I’ve got this one on my list of films to monitor now, as I’m liking what I’m seeing, even if it means the world is coming to an end.
