It’s Time For Something Truly Epic – Your Chance To See Scott Pilgrim Vs. The World
It’s here. It’s here. It’s finally here… AN EPIC OF EPIC EPICNESS.
It’s time for SCOTT PILGRIM VS. THE WORLD.
Since the beginning of the summer, it’s been nothing but 1 disappointment after another, with only a couple of movies standing out as truly great. I have a strong feeling we’re about to witness something that we can add to that truly great category. The buzz out of Comic-Con has been absolutely phenomenal for SCOTT PILGRIM VS. THE WORLD, where they screened it once every night throughout the weekend, and, if you’ve seen any of the trailers, there is plenty on display to explain my unbridled enthusiasm for this movie. I am not propping up some ridiculous expectations or feeding into some crazy hype. I just absolutely really want to see SCOTT PILGRIM VS. THE WORLD. And guess what…? I want you to see it with me.
Universal has hooked The Kidd up with passes to check out the advance screening of SCOTT PILGRIM VS. THE WORLD on Thursday, August 5, at the AMC Aventura 24 in Miami. And now comes the fun part – hooking you up with tickets to see a movie where, in order to win true love, Scott Pilgrim must battle the 7 evil exes of the girl of his dreams, while bonus coins and 1-Ups and all types of awesomeness come into play.
I’ve thought long and hard about this one, and you’re going to have to get creative if you want to land a spot inside the theatre for SCOTT PILGRIM VS. THE WORLD. In the SCOTT PILGRIM series, our hero is a bass guitar player for the garage band Sex Bob-Omb, a reference to those walking explosives that live in the Mushroom Kingdom in the Super Mario Bros. games.
Your task – to come up with your own garage band name… but it must be based around something in the world of video games or comic books.
Just choosing the name of a game or character isn’t going to cut it. You’re going to have to come up with something good that catches The Kidd’s interest. Band names that already exist will just earn you a disqualification, so don’t even try it. Choose some element from a comic or game that you love, and roll with it. I’ll pick the best of the best, and those creative minds will be off to check out SCOTT PILGRIM VS. THE WORLD with me.

If you don’t have that subject line exactly, then you don’t have an entry. So cut and paste it, if you must, and be sure you have it perfectly, in all CAPS, or your entry will never even reach us. There’s a specific reason for the subject line needing to be exact, so, if you can’t even follow our first simple instruction than you are done before you ever really got going.
Next, be sure to include your name. This is a MUST. If your entry has no name, it doesn’t exist. I can’t give prizes to people with no name. I also don’t search for names or hunt for names, so, if your name isn’t clearly visible on your entry, then you’re out. Your name must be in the body of your e-mail. If it’s anywhere else, that’s too bad for you.
The deadline for this contest is Tuesday, August 3, at 5:00 p.m. Winners will be posted on the site that evening. One entry per person per e-mail per name. Therefore, multiple or duplicate entries from duplicate or similar names will be disqualified, as we are able to see the names attached to the accounts you are sending your entries from. And, if you forget a piece of information and try to send it in later, that counts as a multiple, so get it right the first time. After all, I’m not writing these instructions up for my health.
Also, if you cannot attend this screening, do not enter. If you can’t get a babysitter, don’t enter. If you can’t get out of work early enough, don’t enter. If you have class, homework, chores, prior engagements, or previous commitments that would prevent you from attending this screening, do not enter… unless, of course, you’re comfortable being ineligible to enter and win any further screening passes. And remember… just because you win a ticket does not mean you win a seat. Seats are not guaranteed, are limited to theatre capacity and are first-come, first-served… so prepare to get there early, just in case. If you can’t be there early enough to get in, do not enter. Therefore, enter at your own risk.
