Liam Hemsworth Gets Another Lead Role In A Romantic Drama
Liam Hemsworth is slowly building up his resume. Aside from that flick THE LAST SONG, co-starring Miley Cyrus, he landed a huge part alongside some of the biggest action stars of the 90′s and today, in the EXPENDABLES 2 and one of the most anticipated adaptations this year, the HUNGER GAMES. I’m not sure what these people see in him so far, considering the fact that he hasn’t been in many flicks and in a few short-lived TV shows. Then again, I haven’t seen anything he’s in. Looking at his filmography, he was apparently in that shitty Nicholas Cage movie KNOWING, but I don’t remember him in that flick at all.
He really continues to prove to the casting directors that he’s got some talent hidden somewhere that I haven’t seen yet. According to the Hollywood Reporter, he was just cast in a new drama flick entitled TIMELESS. The flick will have Hemsworth playing a scientist looking to develop a way to mess with time and bring back his dead wife.
The flick is going to be directed by Phillip Noyce, who recently directed that actioner SALT with Angelina Jolie. Prior to that, he is known for THE QUIET AMERICAN, that got Michael Caine an Oscar nom for Best Actor. The script is being written by Bill Kelly, known for penning the script to that delightful Disney parody of Disney princesses.
I honestly don’t know what they see in Hemsworth. I mean, he’s completely wrong for this role. Not only does he not look like a scientist, nor does he look old enough to have been married and subsequently widowed. The man is only 21, for cripes’ sake. I’ll never understand Hollywood.
