Mark Ruffalo Is Your New Incredible Hulk
It appears that Marvel has finally secured their replacement for Edward Norton as the Hulk within their Marvel Movie Universe. Mark Ruffalo will be stepping into the shoes of Bruce Banner and hulking up when he gets angry for THE AVENGERS and any other future Hulk movies, as long as he doesn’t piss off the suits at Marvel Studios and force another recast.
The ink is dry on this done deal, according to Deadline Hollywood, putting an end to the negotiations that seemed headed in this direction a short time ago. Expect Ruffalo to make an appearance at Comic-Con during the Marvel panel, when it’s also believed that his inclusion will be officially announced, along with director Joss Whedon’s, in addition to a possible roll-out of the entire line-up of Avengers.
The Kidd is still a bit apprehensive with Ruffalo as the Hulk, because I don’t know that he’s the best fit for the role. He’s been a tremendous character actor for quite some time, but there always seems to be this cockiness to his characters and their attitude that I don’t think meshes well with Bruce Banner. I guess we’ll have to wait and see. Marvel hasn’t really screwed the pooch yet on any of their casting decisions, but there is a first time for everything.
