The Fanboys Blu-ray Contest Winners Finally Get Announced
The Kidd is more than aware that it’s been about a month since the FANBOYS Blu-ray Caption This! contest was closed out, and, to this point, no winners have been announced. That’s what happens when things get super busy around the Infamous Headquarters. Plus, that’s what happens when FANBOYS director Kyle Newman gets super busy traveling all over the world for the various DVD releases of the film, plus attending Star Wars Celebration V, and… Let’s just say that The Kidd thought it’d be better to wait until everything arrived to be sent out to the winners before announcing them rather than announcing them and then making people wait for weeks, e-mailing me constantly, wondering where their Blu-rays were. It keeps the anticipation going on your end, and minimizes the inconvenience on mine. Everyone’s a winner.
Unfortunately, not everyone could be a winner when it came to captioning this awesome STAR WARS-centered image:
In this case, there could only be 2 victors, claiming a Blu-ray copy of FANBOYS, signed by Kyle Newman and his wife Jaime King, who makes a pretty sweet cameo in the film. After carefully reading through all the entries, which seemed to have a lot of references to Darth Vader while others told entire scenes of dialogue rather than a simple caption, we’ve got our 2 winners, who easily came up with something that stood out amongst the rest of the field.
Marc Ferman – “Dude, I can’t believe the Star Destroyer lost our luggage and all I have to wear this whole trip is my f*cking work clothes.”
Will Jackson – “I feel like I forgot to do something before we left. Did I turn off the oven? That’s not it. Did I lock the garage? I think so. Did I close up that thermal exhaust port that leads to the reactor? Well, whatever it was, I’m sure it’s no big deal. What’s the worst that could happen?”
That’s it. That’s the list.
A lot of really solid entries came in, and, when it came down to the last few, it started to get tough in narrowing them down. But, those 2 captions were the most original and the most unique, and, as a result, they’re one signed Blu-ray richer today.
Congratulations, winners… and thanks for playing.
