The International Trailer For Buried Will Leave You Fearing Tight Spaces
There’s a reason why everyone is raving about Ryan Reynolds’ upcoming film BURIED… because it’s incredible. If you think all the praise being heaped on this film seems a bit much, you might want to prepare yourself for the moment when you see the film and have to admit how dead wrong you are. The Kidd has seen it, and you’ll have to wait until the end of the month to get a full-blown The Kidd Vs. on it… but I loved it. It truly is an intense piece of filmmaking, and Ryan Reynolds is tremendous in it. It’s pretty obvious from his performance in BURIED why this guy is going places fast right now.
The international trailer for BURIED has now been released, and, while it shows a bit too much for my taste, it doesn’t spoil anything. It merely uses a bit more of the film in setting up the premise. That’s fine, but, if you’re not sold by someone telling you the concept of a guy waking up and being trapped in a coffin, buried alive underground, and only having a short amount of time to get out of there before his oxygen runs out and he’s dead, then no amount of footage that you see is going to change that.
This is far less about the location, which is limited as you can imagine, and much more about the tone. The trailer should have you fearing tight spaces as the claustrophobia sets in, something BURIED really wants you to experience. If you absolutely want to get an idea of how BURIED is put together, you’ll get a decent look in this short amount. But, as someone who’s already seen the film in its entirety, I would advise you to pass on that curiosity and wait to see all of this in its whole form. This small glimpse isn’t going to ruin anything, but you’d be better served going in fresh.
